Amazon Reverses Dangerous Van Update!

A few weeks ago, Amazon rolled out an update to its electric delivery vans that took workplace surveillance to a new level―any time the door opened and the seat sensed that the driver was out of the van for more than 30 seconds, it shut off the air conditioning.

Drivers were furious! One posted on reddit, “I got heat stroke on friday because of this. It was 85 here and all my stops had no shade. I made it 6 hours and they had to send a rescue to basically finish my route before I collapse.”

We sprung into action. We found the person at Amazon who oversaw driver safety, and made it easy for Amazon customers to send that person direct messages. Almost 10,000 people did.

And now? Amazon is rolling back the update.

It’s a win! Thank you for taking action and demanding safer working conditions for Amazon drivers.

In Solidarity,
FAFO
